Name: Ardor Caleo
Gender: Male
Age: Adult
Tribe: Canine
Species: Dhole
Element: Fire
Rank: Flame path 4 and Smoke path 4
Short Description: Muscular, red-pelted Dhole with gleaming orange eyes
Appearance:
Just over the average for his species, Ardor is well-built with thick muscles, mostly on his shoulders and chest. His fur is a flame red, and when wet it is a dull brown. His chest and stomach fur is white, as well as parts of his face and legs. His paws are wide, perfect for walking on uneven surfaces, with long black claws. The pads on his paws are hardened from the rocky territory his tribe lives in. The most striking feature about Ardor is his bright orange eyes that burn like fire, giving him an intense look when his eyes are set on you. As for scars, he has a few nicks here and there, but the most apparent is across the left-side of his face, given to him by a certain cat called Evren.
Personality:
A generally quite passive Dhole when confronted, he is excellent at keeping a calm. He often uses it to trick his enemies into thinking he is unaffected, when really he is planning all along. He puts his tribe first always, even if it means making personal sacrifices. He is gentle with mothers and their pups, but when it comes to slacking trainees or tribemates, he can become a little aggressive. He likes the idea of comradeship - everyone must do their part for it to work. Proud of his power, he isn't afraid of using it to show who is boss. The Feline clan means very little to Ardor - they are merely prey, yet he would not be able to go against Ishan's rule. Though his mind is filled with such thoughts, it is very unlikely he would ever put anything into place to make it happen.
Relations: Mother died before father, causes never mentioned. Has no known siblings.
History:
Some may call them a line of killers, but they are a pride number of Dholes. Every leader has been a Fire element, what they call 'the strongest element'. Any offspring who are not of the Fire-element are frowned upon by their father, and sometimes the mother. The Caleo family are what rule the Canine tribe, the eldest son of each litter becoming the heir to leadership. This method has been going on for so many generations now that there are rumours it was from the beginning of the tribes. Usually, each litter has at least one son, and if there are any more, the first born or strongest becomes leader. Though it didn't happen when Ardor was born, the Caleo pups have been known to kill off their younger siblings to be the sole heir. Selfish, but the only way to grab victory is to make sacrifices, and unfortunately - the weak are those sacrifices.
Ardor was born as the last litter before his mother died. There had already been two litters, but none gave sufficient heirs and eventually were neglected to the point of death. Some say they ran away, as two went missing (a brother and a sister) waiting to take revenge, but Ardor is unfazed. He is strong, with a mind as quick as any nimble feline cat. He did have a sister, but a snakebite soon ended her life. Every passing moment, Ardor's future was becoming brighter and his father adored him. His mother was not so keen - as a water element, she was serene and mostly against violence, something that never made it to Ardor.
When Ardor had become Level two at a young age, the tribe was very impressed by his abilities and it was soon clear that he was going to be leader. Soon, his 'mark of mastery' time came and he was granted his Level three powers, making his father proud. His son was a true warrior, with the strength and wisdom of his forefathers, but the Dhole was not satisfied. He not only needed to show his father what he could do, he needed to show everyone
When out on patrol, they confronted a group of Felines very close to the border - too close, in fact. As Ardor was leading, his group would follow his commands. When one of the cats started bad-mouthing them, it only made him angrier and Ardor attacked the closest one - a young tom. He practically played with the cat like it was a toy before throwing it back to them, snarling a warning and leading his patrol away. They would get the message. For a long time, the cat's face who had been rude to them kept in his mind, and before long he saw her again.
The final chance to prove himself to his father was in a huge fight between the two clans. His father had been attacked by two cats - the leader of the other tribe and some other tom. Ardor was quick to act, doubling up with his father and the pair took on their enemies. Ardor watched as his father, and leader, killed the opposite tribe's own. The young Dhole was a little shocked - it was an extreme move, so much so that even he thought it was too far. Without a leader, the tribe would be distraught... When he came back to reality, his father was bleeding heavily from many wounds, but he had done it. Before Ardor could react, the other cat had attacked his weakened father.
Ardor could only rip the cat from his father by the throat, throwing him to the ground and trying to help his leader, but it was too late. Both leaders died in that battle. In his rage, Ardor turned on the cat, but he was already gone. Surrounded by death, the Dhole dragged his leader's body all the way to their camp to mourn with his tribe.
Having left Ardor to take his place as leader, the young Dhole soon left to have Ishan grant his leadership. He was granted his Level four masteries in both paths and quickly took the reins of the tribe.
Other: When angry, he growls a mouthful of smoke as a warning. His signature move is to surround a certain individual in poison smoke, tightening the ring until they plead to be released. When he wants to face one of his opponents one-on-one, he surrounds them in a large oval of fire if they are not fire-element. He is not afraid of water-element, unlike some of his own.
